So, I’ve been on this program which means I eat high amounts of protein, low amounts of carbohydrates each day. It’s been hard from the point of view of having to plan what I eat each and every meal. Also from the lack of caffeine and alcohol. It took a full week for my head to stop throbbing.
Hubby and I have also started P90X. We’ve just completed our third week and I have to say that I am enjoying it more than I thought. Tony is hilarious. I don’t know whether it is the Australian way to find all Americans either hilarious or obnoxious. Hubby loves it because he is presently the same age as Tony when he did the videos. So there is a bit of age motivation there.
For the most part, it has been good. Except today I fell off the wagon. I had my favourite meal at my favourite restaurant – chilli linguine lobster. It was delicious. And I had two glasses of wine. They were also very nice. If only the kids didn’t scream the whole dinner through, I could have mistaken it for heaven.
Not to worry, tomorrow will be back to the program. My guilt trip is now over.
I thought when I started that I would hop on the scale after one week and see that I had lost 7 kilograms or something. Isn’t that what happens on The Biggest Loser? After two weeks, I would be down to my ideal weight and the program could finish. Unfortunately, it hasn’t happened that way. I’ve lost 4kg in the three weeks but I still have another 6kg at least to go. Geez, nothing ever turns out in real life like the TV.
Our other news is that after a glorious year and a half, we have to move on from our lovely rented home. I’ve really loved living here but we did know that it wasn’t forever. Hubby and I have been trying to look around for accessible housing – and have found nothing. There is always something that isn’t quite right. Makes us appreciate this house just that little bit more. We have almost four months to find alternate housing so it’s not like we are being kicked out tomorrow. Hopefully, something will come up – right?
It also makes me respect someone like Homemaker (obviously not her real name but who is a real life friend). It’s hard enough to find an inclusive home let alone make the effort to build/renovate one. I’m not sure that I could do it. Stop in and say hello to Homemaker as she chronicles her building journey.
Scrappy turns 3 on Monday. I’m not sure how my baby grew up so quickly. I asked him what he wanted for his birthday and he told me a “real lawnmower”. He told me the other day he wanted a hedgetrimmer and a garden blower. When I told him that little boys couldn’t possibly use those types of tools, he told me that he would be “really careful”.
Scrappy has grown up to be the most adorable child. He has such a helping nature. Although he is incredibly naughty as well, it is mainly because he is too inquisitive and won’t leave anything alone. Scrappy and Moo have become a lot closer of late. Scrappy used to prefer to play with Master C but now he will happily sit with Moo and play cars. If Moo asks him for something, he will run off returning with whatever was requested. And he also dives on Moo to give him great big bear hugs. Moo is also very fond of Scrappy.
Tonight, as we were driving home, I asked everyone to vote on who had been the best behaved kid during dinner at the restaurant.
Moo voted for himself.
Master C reluctantly voted for Moo (with Moo putting his hands in the air and yelling “yes” when he did).
Ad, when he turned his headphones off and heard the question, voted for Moo before turning his music back up.
Scrappy, to Master C’s dismay, also voted for Moo.
By this time, Moo was jumping out of his car seat.
Hubby voted for Moo (with Master C stating it wasn’t fair as he had been good too).
I voted for Master C so that he would stop whinging.
Moo was overjoyed and spent the rest of the trip home teasing Master C that “I’m a good boy and you’re a naughty boy”.
I think everyone wants to recast their votes now;-)

Happiness IS carbohydrates which explains the state of my rear end!

The lobster sounds quite nice, so does the wine. Screaming kids also ok. But can you slip in some dark chocolate protein? And you know you can squeeze into our accessible house and do the big commute when your lease expires. Because our house will certainly be ready by then … won’t it???

Thanks for sharing the program. You know, when I don’t drink coffee I need to eat less cake. So I could cut out the coffee and immediately feel better and lose a kilo or so and feel like losing weight is possible. And I know I can do it because I had no coffee when I was pregnant. But it’s coffee! And I need it so.
Happy Birthday to Scrappy, and congratulations to Moo. I always overreact badly when I have been good too.

Happy Birthday tomorrow to Scrappy. I simply can’t believe that he is three…
Well done to you for (almost) sticking to the program – I know for a fact that I could not give up coffee or carbs (even while pregnant). Hmm, wonder why my plan to lose a kg a month isn’t working??
Have visited Homemakers fab new blog, and tried to comment but couldn’t because I don’t have any of the profiles required (same for bluffska).
Good luck in the new-home hunt… Its a formidable task. Could you not move back in to your old place??

The green one (is that Moo?) is going to be smoking hot. You can see it. Don’t worry, I’m just a mom.
