EXPECTATIONS – coming soon – I do want to write about my post surgery expectations. It seems that what I thought was going to happen was so far off base that it isn’t funny. Stay tuned . . .
In the meantime, below is how my kids have been keeping me amused.
* * *
Moo and I were lying in bed talking about the day that we were just about to get up to. Moo grabbed my hand and started playing with my fingernails. I have two very long little finger nails and every other nail is short and relatively well kept.
Moo told me that the fabulous Miss A cuts his nails before they get too long. He asked me why my little finger nail was so sharp.
I told him that it was so that I could pick the food out of my teeth (please keep in mind that I live in an all male household where burping and farts are something that is celebrated).
Moo picked up my finger and started to try and peel the nail away.
“Mummy,” he started.”You are just going to have to use a tooth pick.”

I was having a conversation with the boys about good boys and what constituted being good. I asked Master C and Moo for their input as to what they thought good boys did. Master C came up with lots of helpful ideas of what good boys did, like not hitting their brothers; or not rolling their eyes at their parents.
I asked Moo what he thought good boys did?
“They don’t refuse their dinner and then ask for ice cream,” he replied.
* * *
Same conversation, different child. I asked Scrappy what good boys did?
“Get toys.”
* * *
I had cooked a variety of different kebabs for dinner, together with mashed potatoes, fried mushrooms, onion and spinach.
Moo is famous for refusing any dinner that I have cooked. So much so that I have to tell him that Miss A cooked it in order for him to eat it.
Master C hooked into his dinner. Half way through the contents of his plate, Master C asked who cooked dinner.
“Mummy,” my hubby replied.
Master C looked up at me and said, “Who would have thought you could cook a yummy dinner Mummy.”

Have a happy Fathers Day tomorrow to G-Dad, my Grand-dad and of course, hubby. Love to you all.

I’ve been trying to leave a comment here for ages, but the function hasn’t seemed to be working
. Great stories, and i am sure your boys are ‘Good boys’ (most of the time)
. My boys are not that thrilled by my cooking either. Sigh!
